چکیده

Oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) fiber is a natural that possesses many advantages, such as biodegradability, eco-friendly, and renewable nature. The effect of the OPEFB loading reinforced fire retardant epoxy composites on flammability tensile properties polymer biocomposites were investigated. tests carried out with four parameters, which specimen A (constant), B (20% fiber), C (35% D (50% fiber). PET yarn magnesium hydroxide used reinforcement material agent, respectively. results obtained from several tests, horizontal burning test, scanning electron microscopy (SEM). result for test showed exhibited better properties, had lowest average rate (11.47 mm/min). From strength, revealed highest value 10.79 N/mm2. For SEM morphological increasing defects surface ruptured observed resulted in decreased composites. It can be summarized reduced when volume contents increased at optimal 20%, values 11.47 mm/min 4.29 KPa,

Characterisation of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches for Fuel Application

This study was an attempt to produce bio-oil from empty fruit bunches (EFB) of oil palm waste using fast pyrolysis technology. A 150 g/h fluidised bed bench scale fast pyrolysis unit operating at atmospheric pressure was used to obtain the pyrolysis liquid. A comparison of the elemental composition of unwashed and washed feedstock was made in this study. With the five methods of treatment being...

Co-composting of empty fruit bunches and partially treated palm oil mill effluents in pilot scale

The main objective of this study is to investigate the physicochemical changes of the cocomposting Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) with partially treated palm oil mill effluent (POME) in pilot scale. The partially treated POME from anaerobic pond was sprayed onto the shredded EFB throughout the treatment. The composting materials were turned over one to three times per week for aeration. Temperature an...

Flame Retardant Luffa Fiber Reinforced Composites with Epoxy Resin Matrices

In current years composites have concerned considerable importance as a potential operational material. Low cost, light weights, high specific modulus, renewability, and biodegradability are the most basic & common attractive features of composites that make them useful for industrial applications. Luffacylindrical locally called as “sponge-gourd” is one such natural resource whose potential as...

Statistical Optimization of the Enzymatic Saccharification of the Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches

A statistical optimization of the saccharification process of EFB was studied. The statistical analysis was done by applying faced centered central composite design (FCCCD) under response surface methodology (RSM). In this investigation, EFB dose, enzyme dose and saccharification period was examined, and the maximum 53.45% (w/w) yield of reducing sugar was found with 4% (w/v) of EFB, 10% (v/v) ...

Pulping of Empty Fruit Bunches (efb) from the Palm Oil Industry by Formic Acid

Empty fruit bunches (EFB) from palm oil were characterized. The holocellulose (66.97%), α-cellulose (47.91%), and lignin (24.45%) are similar to wood materials, and various non-wood materials, but the fiber length is shorter (0.53 mm). The influence of operational variables in the EFB pulping [formic acid (75-95%), hydrochloric acid (0.05-0.15%), and time (30-150 min)], on the yield, kappa numb...
